National Climate Literacy Campaign & CSCC Summit

Climate literacy for climate action and livelihoods — a national movement turning climate knowledge into measurable action across all 47 counties of Kenya.

About the campaign

Bridging the gap between climate awareness and climate action

Climate change remains one of the most significant threats to sustainable development, food security, public health, biodiversity and livelihoods. Awareness has grown — but a persistent gap remains between knowing and doing, at individual, community, institutional and policy level.

The National Climate Literacy Campaign 2026 equips citizens with the knowledge, skills, tools, partnerships and opportunities to turn climate knowledge into measurable action and sustainable livelihoods. It mobilizes government, county administrations, schools, development partners, civil society, the private sector, youth, women, innovators and the media — culminating in a five-day National Summit hosted by Trans-Nzoia County Government under the Climate Smart Champions Club (CSCC) platform.

Lead convener: Community Integrated Strategies for Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CISCAR).

Vision

A climate-literate society empowered to drive climate action, resilience, environmental stewardship and sustainable livelihoods.

Mission

To build climate knowledge, inspire action, strengthen resilience and create sustainable livelihoods through education, innovation, partnerships and community engagement.

Goal

To enhance climate literacy and accelerate climate action among citizens, institutions, schools and communities across Kenya.
